Program rules: allowed traffic & forbidden promo methods
## Allowed traffic sources
You can promote IllusionCloud services through legitimate channels that provide value to your audience. Examples of permitted traffic sources include:
- **Your own website or blog:** Publish honest reviews and tutorials about IllusionCloud products on a personal or business website, including proper disclosures where required.
- **Social media posts:** Share your affiliate links on social platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Discord etc.) as long as you have built the community yourself and you clearly disclose your relationship with IllusionCloud.
- **Video content and streaming:** Create YouTube videos or livestreams showcasing our services. Include the affiliate link in the description and mention that you may earn a commission.
- **Email marketing:** Send your affiliate link to subscribers who have opted in to receive marketing emails. Ensure emails comply with anti‑spam legislation (such as the CAN‑SPAM Act and EU e‑privacy rules).
- **Forums and communities you moderate:** Share helpful answers and resources on forums or guild communities where such promotions are allowed. Always focus on helping users rather than pushing a sale.
- **Organic or paid ads with permission:** If you use paid advertising, ensure you do not bid on IllusionCloud trademark terms, do not mislead users, and abide by platform policies.
The guiding principle is that traffic must come from sources you control and engage with legitimately; all promotions must be truthful and non‑misleading.
## Forbidden promotional methods
The affiliate program strictly forbids any form of deceptive, unsolicited or harmful promotion. Prohibited tactics include
- **Spamming:** Sending unsolicited emails or messages, posting in unrelated forums or comment sections, or using bots to generate clicks is strictly prohibited.
- **Misleading or false claims:** Making unsubstantiated promises (e.g., guaranteed earnings, unrealistic performance) or pretending to represent IllusionCloud.
- **Incentivized traffic:** Offering cash, coupons or other rewards to encourage purchases through your link (such as sweepstakes, giveaways or pay-to-click schemes).
- **Cookie stuffing and click spoofing:** Placing hidden 1×1 pixel images or scripts on unrelated websites to drop tracking cookies without the visitor’s knowledge.
- **Ad hijacking and trademark bidding:** Purchasing ads that appear to be official IllusionCloud ads or bidding on IllusionCloud-branded keywords in search engines without permission.
- **Illegal or offensive sites:** Promoting your affiliate links on websites containing adult content, hate speech, violence or any material that violates laws or common decency.
- **Malware, adware or traffic bots:** Using software that injects pop-up ads, redirects users or artificially inflates click or conversion numbers.
- **Self-referrals or manipulation:** Generating commissions by placing orders for yourself or by faking conversions or leads.
Violations may result in withheld commissions, removal from the affiliate program or legal action. When in doubt, contact the IllusionCloud affiliate team for clarification.
## Consequences and enforcement
IllusionCloud monitors affiliate traffic and may reverse commissions or suspend accounts that violate these rules. We reserve the right to cancel commissions resulting from prohibited activities, withhold payouts during investigations and terminate partnerships in cases of fraud or repeated non‑compliance. Always follow ethical marketing practices and our affiliate terms to ensure long‑term success.
