After ordering a server or VPS from IllusionCloud, you'llyou will receive a series of messagesemails that contain essential information about your new service. These emailsmessages documentconfirm your purchase and provide the credentials you'llyou need to access and manage the server. It's important to saveKeep these messages for future reference.

## Emails you will receive

- **Payment confirmation** – acknowledges your order and payment. Keep this for accounting records.
- **Order confirmation** – summarises the product you ordered and confirms the order was placed.
- **New server information** – thisalso called the “VPS Information” email. This welcome email contains the technical details for your service. Other providers refer to it as the “VPS Information” or “New VPS Information” email【649457426564116†L19-L31】. It includes your server’s IP address and the credentials to log in to the control panel or remote console【649457426564116†L19-L31】.console.

## Information included in the welcome email

The welcome email typically contains:

- **IPv4 address and port** – the numeric address you’llyou will use to connect to your server and, for some services, a port number【687669024151257†L93-L101】.number.
- **Username** – this is usually **Administrator**“Administrator” for Windows servers andor **root**“root” for Linux servers【687669024151257†L93-L107】.servers.

- **Additional resources** – depending on your service, the welcome email may also include information about the installed operating system, hostname, reverse DNS record, and network settings. For dedicated servers, details about the remote console (IPMI/KVM) may be provided.

If you don’t see these emails in your inbox, check your spam or junk folders and allow a few minutes for delivery. Should you still not receive the email, you can log into your client area and retrieve your IP address and reset the password via the service dashboard【687669024151257†L109-L116】.

## Best practices

- **Store credentials securely** – keep your IP address, usernames and passwords in a password manager rather than leaving them in plain text.
- **Change default passwords promptly** – as soon as you log in, change the administrator/root password to a strong, unique value【649457426564116†L72-L74】.
- **Enable two‑factor authentication** – protect your client area and control panel with multi‑factor authentication where available.
- **Do not share credentials** – never post your login details in support tickets or emails. If you need help, provide only non‑sensitive information.
