SLA + performance overview (NVMe, 1 Gbps fair share, Premium Anti-DDoS)

## Performance and SLA overview

IllusionCloud’s LXC VPS plans are designed to offer high performance at an affordable price. Below is an overview of the key features and service level commitments.

### NVMe storage

Your LXC container runs on modern **NVMe SSDs**. NVMe drives attach directly to the PCIe bus, delivering sequential read speeds in excess of 3 GB/s and extremely low latency compared with traditional SATA SSDs (limited to ~550 MB/s). This translates to faster application start‑up times, reduced page‑load latency for websites and improved database responsiveness. NVMe drives also maintain performance under heavy parallel workloads, ensuring your container remains responsive even during peak I/O activity.

### Fair‑share 1 Gbps network

Each LXC VPS is connected to a **1 Gbps port**. This connection is **fair‑shared** among containers on the same node; bandwidth is not strictly dedicated, so throughput may fluctuate depending on other customers’ usage. In normal conditions you can expect burst speeds close to 1 Gbps for downloads and uploads. To avoid network congestion, it’s good practice to schedule large data transfers during off‑peak hours and use caching/CDN services for static content.

### Premium Anti‑DDoS protection

All LXC plans include **always‑on DDoS mitigation**. Traffic is automatically scrubbed through high‑capacity filtering systems that detect and mitigate volumetric attacks such as UDP floods, SYN floods and amplification attacks. Legitimate traffic is passed through to your container with minimal added latency, ensuring your services remain accessible during attacks. IllusionCloud monitors network traffic 24/7 and adjusts filters proactively to protect against emerging threats.

### Service level agreement (SLA)

IllusionCloud aims to deliver a highly reliable service and offers a **99.9 % uptime SLA** for LXC VPS plans. In the rare event of a service interruption caused by hardware or network failures, you may be eligible for a service credit. Key SLA points include:

- **Uptime commitment** – 99.9 % monthly uptime for the underlying infrastructure (power, network and hypervisor). Scheduled maintenance windows are announced in advance and excluded from the calculation.
- **Hardware replacement** – Faulty hardware components (SSD, RAM, CPU) are replaced within a defined timeframe to minimise downtime.
- **Network monitoring** – The network core is monitored around the clock, with redundant uplinks and automatic fail‑over to maintain connectivity.

### Tips to maximise performance

- **Keep your container lightweight** – Only install necessary packages and disable unused services to conserve CPU and memory.
- **Optimise disk and network usage** – Use compression or caching where appropriate, host large assets on CDN or object storage and schedule backups during off‑peak hours.
- **Monitor resource usage** – Tools like `top`, `htop`, `iostat` and `vnstat` help you identify bottlenecks. If you consistently hit resource limits, consider upgrading to a larger plan or KVM VPS.

### Summary

LXC VPS plans combine NVMe storage, a fair‑share 1 Gbps network and always‑on DDoS protection to deliver great performance and value. While the shared‑kernel model enables excellent density and speed, remember that bandwidth is shared with other containers and that the SLA covers infrastructure uptime rather than application‑level performance. Proper optimisation and monitoring will help you get the most from your LXC environment.
