## What's included with a dedicated server
IllusionCloud's dedicated servers are bundled with a comprehensive set of protections and value-added services to keep your infrastructure running smoothly and securely from day one. While exact features may vary slightly between the Budget, Gaming and Enterprise lines, the following items are included with all servers unless otherwise specified.
### Anti‑DDoS protection
- **Always‑on filtering:** Incoming traffic is continuously monitored by scrubbing centres and anomalies are filtered out before they reach your server.
- **Automatic mitigation:** The platform recognises volumetric and application‑layer attacks and redirects malicious traffic to scrubbing capacity without intervention.
- **Layer 7 rules:** Basic HTTP/HTTPS rules help block common bot and flood patterns without affecting legitimate visitors.
### Hardware & network protection
- **24/7 hardware replacement:** Faulty components (disk, RAM, PSU etc.) are replaced at no cost with equivalent or better parts according to SLA.
- **Redundant networking:** Servers are provisioned on multi-homed networks with redundant uplinks and routing to minimise single points of failure.
- **IPMI/ILO access:** Secure out-of-band management interfaces allow you to power cycle, access a remote console and reinstall the OS, even if the network is misconfigured.
### Backup options
- **Snapshot backups:** For KVM servers, optional daily or weekly snapshots can be enabled via the control panel to quickly roll back after software issues.
- **Offsite backups:** You can add a remote backup storage plan that replicates your data to a separate facility for disaster recovery.
- **Self-managed backups:** All servers include full root access so you can install your preferred backup software (rsync, Borg, Veeam, etc.) and schedule backups on your own storage.
### Additional security & management features
- **Firewall templates:** Predefined firewall rulesets and the ability to customise inbound/outbound rules help secure your services from the start.
- **Monitoring & alerts:** Basic monitoring of ping, HTTP and resource usage is included with email alerts when thresholds are breached; optional advanced monitoring is available.
- **Rescue & reinstall environment:** A web-based console lets you boot into a rescue image, mount filesystems and troubleshoot, or reinstall the OS with a few clicks.
