What counts for commission
Not every sale qualifies for affiliate commission. IllusionCloud has rules to ensure that commissions are paid for genuine referrals rather than self‑purchases or abuse. Here’s what typically counts:
-
- New customer
purchases**purchases – You earn a commission when a new customer buys a qualifying IllusionCloud service (e.g., game servers, VPS plans, web hosting, txAdmin panel) after clicking your affiliate link. The sale must occur within the tracking window.- - Recurring
renewals**renewals – If the customer continues to subscribe to a recurring service (such as a VPS plan), you receive recurring commissions on each renewal payment for as long as they remainactive【921617785721741†L37-L129】.-active. - Eligible
products**products – Commissions apply to most services. Some products (such as domain registrations or one‑time setup fees) may be excluded; check the affiliate dashboard or program terms for details.- - Valid
payment**payment – The purchase must be paid and not cancelled or refunded. If a sale is reversed due to fraud, chargeback or customer cancellation during the refund period, the commission may be voided.- - No self‑
referrals**referrals – Purchases made by the affiliate themselves, employees or immediate family members usually do not qualify. The program is designed to reward genuine referrals, not discounted self‑purchases.
Examples
- *Qualifies*Qualifies: You share your link on your blog. A reader clicks and orders a VPS plan. They keep it active for six months. You receive an initial commission plus recurring commissions for each monthly renewal.-
Does not qualify*qualify: You use your own affiliate link to get a discount on a service; or a customer clicks your link but later uses a coupon code from another affiliate before checkout. In such cases, the sale may not be attributed to you.
Always review IllusionCloud’s affiliate terms to understand which products and scenarios qualify for commissions. If in doubt, contact the affiliate support team.
