## Available upgrades & add-ons for your dedicated server
IllusionCloud offers a variety of upgrades and optional services to help you scale your dedicated server as your needs grow.
### Hardware upgrades
- **Additional RAM**: Increase memory capacity to handle larger workloads. Available in increments depending on your motherboard’s limits.
- **Storage expansion**: Add extra drives (HDD, SSD or NVMe), upgrade to larger capacities or switch to RAID configurations for redundancy and performance.
- **CPU upgrades**: Upgrade to higher-clocked or higher-core-count processors when you need more compute power. Availability depends on server line and chipset.
- **Bandwidth and port speed**: Increase from the default fair-share 1 Gbps to dedicated 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps ports (where available).
### Network & IP addresses
- **Additional IPv4 addresses**: Assign extra public IPs for your applications or virtualization environment. Each IP incurs a monthly fee.
- **Private networking**: Enable VLAN/private network between multiple servers in the same data centre for secure internal communication.
### Software & licensing
- **Control panels**: Add cPanel/WHM, Plesk, DirectAdmin or other control panels. Licensing fees apply.
- **Operating system licensing**: Windows Server licenses can be added on a monthly basis.
- **Managed services**: Choose from managed support tiers for server monitoring, patching and proactive maintenance.
### Backup & storage services
- **Offsite backup storage**: Subscribe to remote backup space and schedule regular backups of your data.
- **Snapshot & disaster recovery plans**: Automate snapshot creation and keep multiple restore points for quick recovery.
### Other add-ons
- **DDoS protection tiers**: Upgrade to higher-capacity DDoS mitigation or add Web Application Firewall (WAF) services.
- **Remote hands**: Purchase blocks of hands-on time for tasks such as racking equipment, cable management or hardware replacement.
- **Additional support SLAs**: Opt for enhanced response time SLAs or 24/7 phone support.
### How to request upgrades
1. **Check availability**: Not all upgrades are available on every server line. Review the product description or contact sales to confirm compatibility.
2. **Open a ticket**: Log in to your client area and open a support ticket specifying the desired upgrade. Provide details like current server hostname, desired hardware or service, and urgency.
3. **Receive a quote**: The billing team will provide a cost estimate and any necessary downtime window.
4. **Schedule and confirm**: Once you approve the quote, the team will schedule the upgrade. Some upgrades can be performed live, while others (like CPU changes) may require a brief maintenance window.
Upgrades and add-ons allow you to extend the life of your server and adapt to changing requirements without migrating to a new machine.
